Shuttle Inc. today announces a new partnership with Navori, the global leader in content management software for digital signage, to have Navori certified media players. Navori has over fifteen years of industry expertise and offers player and server software that is robust as it is easy-to-use. Shuttle specializes in small form factor barebones PC hardware for digital signage, interactive kiosk, and vending machine applications in the retail, restaurant, food service, and hospitality industries.</div>
<div style="color: #474747; font-family: 'Open Sans', verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13.5135135650635px; line-height: 20px; padding: 5px 0px;">
Shuttle’s DS81 media player has undergone a series of tests to ensure compatibility and performance. Since the device is fully capable of running Navori QL player software, it’s easy to install and use in any Navori-based digital signage application. “Attaining Navori certification allows Shuttle to continue in our endeavor to add value to our customers,” says Kathleen Chen, International Sales Director, Shuttle. “The combination of Navori’s low-operation cost and high-efficiency software with Shuttle’s strong processing performance systems makes for a highly valuable offering.”</div>
<div style="color: #474747; font-family: 'Open Sans', verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13.5135135650635px; line-height: 20px; padding: 5px 0px;">
Jerome Moeri, CEO, Navori states, “The DS81’s exceptionally high processing power, connectivity, and ability to deliver 4K video content make this a strong option for Navori users. We’re excited to add the DS81 to our list of certified media players and look forward to testing more in the future.” Shuttle’s DS81 is a barebones media player made to drive 4th capable of delivering either 4K resolution on one screen or Full HD resolution on two screens. Compact, the 43mm thick media player is VESA mountable and runs quiet and cool in 0-50 0C environments. Whether for restaurant, hotel, retail, transportation, or hospital environments, the DS81 is designed to fit inconspicuously into a variety of digital signage applications so as to not interfere with viewer experience.</div>
<div style="color: #474747; font-family: 'Open Sans', verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13.5135135650635px; line-height: 20px; padding: 5px 0px;">
“Navori certification ensures a seamless digital signage experience for installers and integrators. Simply install Navori QL Player software, connect to the internet or LAN and the system is ready to begin pushing signage content,” adds Kathleen Chen. Thus far only Shuttle’s DS81 is certified by Navori, however, the future of Shuttle-Navori looks bright as Shuttle aims to certify its ARM-based and triple display media players. Also, for the first time ever,</div>
<div style="color: #474747; font-family: 'Open Sans', verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13.5135135650635px; line-height: 20px; padding: 5px 0px;">

<a href="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Advertising/Australia%20Pump%20Station%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Advertising/Australia%20Pump%20Station%202.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
There are many digital signage software products that claim to be easy to use, reliable or cost effective but start using them you'll quickly discover nothing could be further from the truth. This is why Navori invites you to compare it's software with any CMS on the market. <br />
<br />
When selecting your next digital signage CMS software, ask yourself the following questions...<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><i>Does the software support multiple operating systems?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori QL Manager is web-based and no software needs to be installed.</li>
<li>Navori QL Player is available in Windows and Android versions.<br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>Is the CMS really easy to use? Can non-technical staff use it effectively?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori QL Manager is one of the easiest CMS software on the market. QL Manager can be accessed using most web browsers and staff can be trained in hours, not days.</li>
<li>Users can create sophisticated template layouts and include real-time data from RSS feeds and XML sources without any programming. No scripting or programming is required.</li>
<li>Data can also be stored in Navori QL's own database and non-technical users can make changes and add more information using a familiar "spreadsheet" format. <br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>Can anyone create content using this software?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori QL Manager features a template and a ticker designer so users can create rich content. Templates and tickers feature geographic shapes (rectangle, circle), the current time, the current date, content zones, playlist zones, background images (templates only) and real-time data (RSS, XML, server hosted).</li>
<li>Tickers can be dressed up with logos, shapes, time and date including real-time data feeds. <br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>Does the software support large-scale deployments or deployments across vast distances?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori QL can support player deployments in excess of 50,000 Players. The software is built on a Microsoft foundation and uses SQL Server and Microsoft IIS.</li>
<li>Players across large geographic areas can communicate via the Internet. LAN and WAN is also supported.<br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>Does the software allow for multi-tenant installations?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>System Administrators can restrict users access to specific groups of Players ensuring users can only access their own players, content and scheduling.</li>
<li>Network operators can delegate some administrative duties to their customers as required. Group Administrators can create and manage their own user accounts without affecting other users on the system.</li>
<li>Each tenant can be given their own user and Player profiles (self-hosted version) ensuring corporate standards are enforced. For example, a company's logo can be displayed on screen when there is nothing scheduled for playback. Screens can be turned on or off according to a customer's hours of operation.<br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>Is the software reliable? Can I set it up and forget it?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori QL Player was designed from the ground up for 24/7/365. The software also reports back to the Server at regular intervals so you always know the status of all your Players at a glance in the Navori QL Manager interface.</li>
<li>Navori QL Player features a watchdog that oversees the application and ensures the PC or Android device is always operating optimally.</li>
<li>Navori QL Player is one of the most reliable application of its kind, but don't take our word for it. Contact your nearest Navori sales office for a list of references or <a href="http://www.navori.com/digital-signage-news.html">check out the Navori web site for more information</a>.<br /></li>
</ul>
<li><i>I have never heard of Navori? Are they a new company?</i><br /></li>
<ul>
<li>Navori is based in Lausanne, Switzerland with sales offices in North America, South America and in the Middle East.</li>
<li>The company has been developing digital signage software solutions for over 15 years.</li>
<li>Navori has a dedicated team of engineers who continuously refine the company's flagship product, Navori QL.</li>
<li>Navori QL is the company's second generation digital signage platform that incorporates all the latest technologies like a web-based user interface, multi-group/sub-groups, hybrid player support (Windows and Android), support for external data, triggered content (fire/evacuation alarms, RFID, motion sensors, Kinect, etc...) </li>
</ul>
</ul>
<div>
The Navori QL software is available for testing on the company's SaaS server for a period of 10 days and a trial copy of Navori QL's self-hosted version is also available for those who require it.</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.15; white-space: pre-wrap;">I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Jerome Moeri, Chairman and Founder of Swiss-based Navori SA about his thoughts on the future of digital signage.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

<b id="docs-internal-guid-8d0ba2d2-6703-aefa-9550-a84153f14257" style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> The digital signage market has been experiencing 30 to 40% growth during the past 10 years. This growth varying from one region to another. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Given the current state of the industry, we can make the following predictions:</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">1. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The number of software publishers will decrease (consolidation): Research and development costs associated with the development and maintenance of professional software applications have increased at a rate of 30% per year. Organizations that lack a global presence are increasingly marginalized because their sales volume is to low. They lack the financial resources to support continuous research. They are simply left behind. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Take player software, for example. In the past couple of years we have seen Android taking an increasingly larger piece of the market and this created the need for software compatible with that operating system. However there is still a need for Windows software too so now we’re getting into hybrid applications. This is having a big impact on smaller, less established publishers because they simply cannot afford to develop and maintain software in two totally different operating systems. These companies will either be absorbed by their competitors or simply disappear altogether.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">2.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> The network operator and reseller market is divided into 3 distinct segments:</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 36pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">a. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">First, we have people reselling basic products that are designed for small deployments. These usually require entry-level products such as the ones offered by Samsung and other screen manufacturers. We expect demand for these products to increase because they are inexpensive and easy to deploy. These types of products are usually marketed by A/V resellers who focus on display sales.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 36pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Navori already caters to this market with our QL StiX Android Player. It’s a plug and play device that communicates with our own SaaS. It is extremely easy to deploy and use and it is very affordable. We think many independent software vendors (ISVs) in this segment will gradually lose ground because the display manufacturers will aggressively promote their own solution.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 36pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">b. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Next we have people who specialize in corporate and professional organizations. Their customers need a good content management solution that is a little more elaborate that what’s available from entry-level products. Customers who fit this profile require multiple user accounts and products that offer dynamic content management. These software solutions are usually resold by stakeholders who have more product knowledge and better technical expertise folks who simply resell screens. In these cases, we see software taking up a bigger share of the total budget than we would in the first segment.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 36pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">c.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Finally we have network operators and integrators that are looking for professional solutions that can manage larger networks of hundreds or even thousands of players. Navori has several year’s experience in this field and we market our software to this segment under various licensing models. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Now, let’s take a minute to talk about the role of digital signage network operators.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">DSO’s initially consisted mainly of pure network plays but this is slowly changing. Currently, the share of "brick and mortar" operators is on the rise. We now see DSOs that are telephone operators, specialized industries or verticals looking to extend their skills to digital signage</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">3.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Display manufacturers who offer a range of professional products. The trend in Western countries is to embed the player hardware into the screen in order to make the integrator’s job easier and increase productivity. From a practical point of view, this type of bundling is more successful in the West and in other countries where labor tends to be expensive.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I think the use of separate players and displays is more flexible. The integrator or network operator is free to select the best display for the current project while standardizing the Player hardware across an entire deployment. Also, it’s often less expensive to repair or upgrade individual Player hardware while you keep the same display. Take for example our Navori QL StiX with built-in HDMI-CEC support which can be matched to any consumer or professional grade display. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b><br />
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. What about digital signage hardware manufacturers?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We see this business split into three separate groups.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">At the high-end we find companies like NEC who have been integrating the PC Player hardware inside the display frame (OPS style). By the way, NEC has just introduced a very powerful OPS Android player. This small form factor device is designed for single screen applications and it has the advantage of costing a lot less than a typical Windows based PC and the overall performance is roughly equivalent. We find these devices offer better stability and cost less to deploy than competitive solutions. The cost of commercial-grade OPS devices is higher that consumer-grade devices but you benefit from a much higher ROI over the lifespan of the device.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In the middle and at the lower end of the scale we find products from display manufacturers like LG and SAMSUNG who offer entry-level software applications designed to run exclusively on their hardware. These companies are mainly interested in promoting their own “pseudo-OS” rather than go with Android, resulting in unrefined products that offer limited features and reduced playback quality. Contrary to Android, these proprietary operating systems aren’t compatible with other devices such as tablets or mobile devices. It’s like going back in time.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Then we have the Chinese hardware manufacturers who offer a veritable constellation of Android based products such as tablets, displays that feature built-in Android players, mobile devices, hardware media players of various shapes and sizes, etc... Their advantage? Network operators and hardware integrators can order private labeled devices and products designed for specific vertical markets. These products are both reliable and affordable. </span></div>

For example, you need local knowledge and an understanding of local customs. You must also be prepared to place large orders since you’re dealing directly with manufacturers. You should be prepared to deal in quantities of 500 units or more depending on the product and the manufacturer. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Throughout the R&D process, we look for 3 things:</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<ol style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<li dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; list-style-type: decimal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

(Is it the new features, better communication, simplified interactivity, smarter software or the feature’s relevance to the task).</span></div>
</li>
<li dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; list-style-type: decimal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

Each innovation should always result in a reduction of complexity and help us simplify deployments.</span></div>
</li>
<li dir="ltr" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; list-style-type: decimal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Are we reducing OPEX and CAPEX.</span></div>
</li>
</ol>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We feel innovation can only be effective if makes the product simpler to use and accessible to all. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. What does HDMI-CEC bring to digital signage?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">You can only be sure a screen displays content if you’re in control of the screen. HDMI-CEC is an electronic device standard that lets a device control a screen by sending commands via a HDMI cable. It’s important to note most deployments lack true screen control and it’s unfortunate as this feature can double the lifespan of the displays. It’s also critical for network operators and end-users to know the screens are actually turned on and displaying content. </span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">RS232 has been around for 10 years but it requires a serial port on the PC and the screen plus a serial cable. You also need to know which codes to send to the screen and codes vary from one manufacturer to another. Using RS232 to control your screens can be quite complex and expensive. This explains why so few people actually use this feature.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This is why our Android based QL StiX players now feature HDMI-CEC. This technology lets users schedule any screen’s on/off settings using the Navori QL software. There is no coding or other steps required. Best of all, users are kept informed on the status of each screen so they can take action if there is a problem.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Innovation = making things simpler and more accessible to everyone.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. What about Android and 1080p support?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Current Android solutions are built on mobile technologies. These devices are optimized for 720p (meaning a resolution of 1280x720 pixels). A few of these devices will offer a 1080p setting but in fact they are upscaling their native 720p content to 1080p at the display. It’s quite easy to test for this. Simply launch the web browser on your Android device and load any web site. Then, do the same on a PC configured at 1080p and you will see the difference.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Android is an operating system that is pre-loaded on each device by the manufacturers. In most cases the manufacturer has no idea how these devices will be used. They don’t know if they are destined to become digital signage players or perform some other function so the devices are not optimized for any specific task.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This is why Navori markets it’s own Android device. The QL StiX 3400 was designed with digital signage in mind. The device supports a native resolution of 1080p (1920x1080 pixels). By specifying this resolution, we ensure the playback quality matches what you can get from a PC and this is great news!</span></div>
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The device can be ordered from our online store, from our branch offices or from one of our distributors worldwide.</span></div>

<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Here is part 1 of our conversation.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. Mr. Moeri, what do you see as the next hot trend in Digital Signage?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> I see three emerging trends:</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">1. Multi-platform solutions, meaning one software offering the exact same features across multiple operating systems and it will be totally transparent to the user. For example, no difference whatsoever whether you are pushing an update to a mix of Windows PCs and Android devices.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">2. A return to the basics. Is the screen on... Is it set to the right input, etc... This is where technologies like HDMI CEC will become essential. HDMI CEC lets administrators confirm the status of the screen, select the right input and more and perform these tasks from any location making sure everything works just right.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">3. Work from a hybrid hardware player database (multi-platform support) ensuring we have assigned the right player to the right screen.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. Is 4K relevant and is Navori looking to support this new display technology.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A. </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I think 4K screens add value on some applications like in retail as long as the audience is close enough to notice the details. It’s interesting to note that 4K screens are getting closer to a human eye’s resolution which is great for some type of content. I see 4K useful in the promotion of luxury goods such as watches and jewelry because you can enlarge these images significantly to see every detail. It’s important to note the Microsoft Windows version of our QL Player software currently supports 4K and our Android player will support the resolution mid-2014.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. Do you see any future for 3D in digital signage?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> 3D has been tried in print material, digital screens and cinema but it has failed to really take off. In fact, it’s been a commercial failure. We don’t see this trend reversing any time soon. Why use visual tricks to recreate what our mind does naturally.</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. How do you see Android’s use evolve in digital signage?</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Android has become the standard for single screen systems and this represents the majority of digital signage applications to this date. Windows will continue to be the reference for the foreseeable future when dealing with multi-screen installations or for projects that have heavy processing requirements like interactive applications that use triggers or motion sensors (Kinect).</span></div>
<b style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></b>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Q. Navori already offers an Android player device, any possibility there will be others such as tablets, etc… </span></div>
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A.</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Since Android’s introduction we've seen a whole new range of devices come to market and we expect this trend to accelerate. Take for example screen manufacturer NEC who has recently launched a new OPS device that runs on the Android platform. This is a great initiative and Navori is proud to announce we are now 100% compatible with this device. At the other end of the spectrum we see solutions currently running on Samsung or similar consumer grade smart TVs. We decided to take a different path and instead offer self-contained players that are compatible with Microsoft Windows and Android. We feel these two platforms will continue to dominate the market for the foreseeable future. Next we have Android tablets that come in various formats and sizes. You can easily run our software on these devices to turn them into very affordable digital signage units. Their biggest advantage is their low cost when compared to a solution based on traditional screens. Other advantages include support for interactive and non-interactive applications. It’s important to state that while tablets are starting to make inroads into the digital signage space, 80% of installations still use traditional screens hence the importance hybrid PC/Android solutions like the one we currently offer. </span></div>

<a href="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/corporate/Brasil%20video%20wall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/corporate/Brasil%20video%20wall.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Digital signage has become a very popular tool for corporate communications. What started mainly as greeting displays in office lobbies has now reached deep inside many businesses. We now see screens in common areas, meeting rooms, training rooms all the way to the shop floor. There are many reasons for this sudden success. <br />
<br />
First, the cost of hardware has been dropping dramatically. You can buy a decent large size flat screen panel under $1K and the introduction of Android based players and SaaS solutions have all contributed to democratize this technology.<br />
<br />
Android is also making deployments a lot simpler to execute. What used to require specialized technical expertise is now possible with less knowledgeable staff since many Android devices are truly "plug and play". More installations can be done with in-house personnel and this also helps reduce roll-out costs.<br />
<br />
When all this hardware is driven by solutions like Navori QL, non-technical staff can create professional content and publish real-time data without the need for coding or other assistance. Navori QL is compatible with RSS and XML data feeds and the software can host it's own data feeds if necessary.<br />
<br />
It's also important to note that many business intelligence software applications can output graphical "dashboards" in HTML or Flash SWF format. This content can be managed and distributed to screens across an entire enterprise via the Navori QL CMS, making sure critical production and sales data reaches the right audience.<br />
<br />
The last piece of the puzzle is the CMS's user interface. Second generation software platforms like Navori QL have streamlined UIs that are extremely easy to learn and use. <br />
<br />
All of these factors help explain why digital signage has become such a hot commodity in the corporate world.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02394154402213524835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1236606146658977000.post-4366401823082514082014-04-30T18:29:00.001-04:002014-04-30T18:29:22.688-04:00What are some of the "hot trends" in digital signage?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Videowall/France%20Paris%20Champs%20lyses%20Club%20Mditerrane%20videowall%2024%20screens.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Videowall/France%20Paris%20Champs%20lyses%20Club%20Mditerrane%20videowall%2024%20screens.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The digital signage industry continues to grow at an accelerated pace and shows no signs of slowing down. This is partly due to a constant flow of new technologies and improvements in manufacturing techniques. The hardware components required for your typical digital signage installation are becoming faster, better and cheaper with each passing quarter. It's truly a great time to be in the digital signage business so let's take a look at what's hot, right now.<br />
<br />
<h3>
1. Multi-Screen Installations</h3>
Digital signage network operators and A/V integrators are taking advantage of innovative new mounting options and lighter/thinner displays to create some stunning installations. Displays can be ordered in an ever growing number of shapes and sizes (you can even find cylindrical ones) making them more of an architectural feature. Then we have multi-screen video cards and video processors that are pushing the envelope of what can be displayed on a video-wall. Screens are being laid out in patterns to create innovative visual effects and with 4K screens gaining in popularity, we're looking at some mighty impressive capabilities in the near future. It used to be you would need projectors to cover a large surface with motion graphics but it's no longer the case.<br />
<br />
<h3>
2. Hybrid CMS Software Solutions</h3>
Android has become a very popular option for digital signage players but there is still big demand for PC based players. One of the reason is video-walls, of course, but there are also other processor intensive applications that simply cannot currently be supported by Android devices. This means your CMS software will need to be very flexible. The ones that are hybrid right out of the box (like Navori QL) will be extremely popular. Having the ability to create, manage and schedule content on any platform is definitely a hot trend.<br />
<br />
<h3>
3. CEC Remote Screen Control</h3>
One of the more interesting trends in digital signage has been hardware based screen control. Having the ability to turn screens on and off or switch video inputs used to require commercial equipment that communicated via RS-232 (Serial Port). This meant PCs because they were the only player hardware you could order with RS-232 ports. This was an issue with Android devices since they lack serial ports. However, second generation Android devices like the upcoming Navori QL StiX 3400 will offer HDMI-CEC control. This protocol sends commands to any compatible device via the HDMI cable. Expect Android devices that support this protocol to be a hot commodity.<br />
<br />
<h3>
4. Android based OPS devices</h3>
NEC is ahead of the game with its latest open pluggable specification device. This small PC-like device slides in OPS-compliant displays and turns them into a complete integrated package, not unlike what you see in many SmartTV based signage displays. However, this particular device packs a powerful punch with a performance akin to a full fledged PC. With these devices you get the best of both worlds. Lower prices and easy setup (basically, plug and play) with an experience that matches what you would normally get from a Windows based PC. Expect to see more of these "commercial-grade" Android players in the months ahead.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02394154402213524835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1236606146658977000.post-83543986451737197882014-04-23T10:18:00.001-04:002014-04-23T10:18:33.538-04:00Navori supports "disconnected" digital signage playersDigital signage technologies are great for pushing content across a LAN or via the internet. Unfortunately not every location is connected and this often complicates digital signage deployments. There are situations where running network cables or even WiFi is simply not feasible and where using wireless is sometimes too expensive. There is also the problem of rural areas with poor bandwidth or intermittent internet access that make digital signage installations very difficult. Think of locations such as parks, golf courses, etc... Then you have areas where internet access is cost-prohibitive like in trade show halls or in mobile digital signage installations where tablets or mobile PCs are mounted inside vehicles.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Transportation/Chile%20Santiago%20Bus%20screen1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Transportation/Chile%20Santiago%20Bus%20screen1.jpg" height="186" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
When facing these situations, you need a solution that is reliable and able to perform flawlessly even when there is no network available.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Outdoor/Outdoor%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.navori.com/images/applications/Outdoor/Outdoor%202.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The solution is Navori's new external player update add-on. This add-on was designed for Windows PCs and Andoid devices running QL Player that aren't connected to a network and have no access to the internet. It lets users update Navori QL managed content and schedules using a USB flash drive.<br />
<br />
To update players, users simply copy their programming and content updates including QL Server hosted data feeds to a USB flash Drive. When the flash drive is connected to a PC or Android device running QL Player, the software automatically retrieves the update just as if it was delivered over a network. This makes digital signage installations that were difficult, if not impossible to execute, as simple as plug and play.<br />
<br />
With this new add-on, Navori continues to demonstrate its leadership in digital signage software design.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02394154402213524835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1236606146658977000.post-79579674855063330762014-04-11T16:16:00.000-04:002014-05-07T07:04:23.178-04:00NAVORI QL SUPPORTS NEC ANDROID OPS DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<div class="c0" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
Banque BCP wanted to establish a screen network for their branches in Luxembourg. The network’s purpose was to inform customers and communicate with employees. To meet these requirements, double-sided screens were installed in each branch and positioned so that a screen is always visible from outside the branch.</div>
<div class="c0 c2" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; height: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
</div>
<div class="c0" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
The screens display information about the bank’s financial products and real-time information such as stock quotes, weather forecasts, local events and other relevant news.</div>
<div class="c0 c2" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; height: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
</div>
<div class="c0" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
For this project, NAVORI partner TECH -IT deployed QL StiX Android devices in each Banque BCP branch. Each QL StiX displays data streams in real time via HTML5 content that is pre-downloaded and stored on each device. The QL StiX was chosen for its ease of use and installation as well as a playback quality that rivals traditional PCs, all while remaining extremely affordable.</div>
<div class="c0 c2" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; height: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
</div>
<div class="c0" style="direction: ltr; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; orphans: 2; widows: 2;">
Banque BCP staff use the NAVORI QL Manager software to manage the entire network via a web browser. This helps reduce software acquisition and maintenance costs. In fact, there is no software to install on individual workstations and the product is compatible with PCs and Macs.</div>
<h3 class="c0 c1" style="color: #666666; direction: ltr; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 1.15; orphans: 2; padding-bottom: 0pt; padding-top: 8pt; page-break-after: avoid; widows: 2;">

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
Saline Water Conversion Corporation is a Saudi Arabian government corporation responsible for desalinating sea water to augment the supply of potable water to coastal and inland cities in the Kingdom. SWCC is also the second largest electric power producer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
SWCC wanted to upgrade their current forms of visitor and staff communication whenever entering and leaving the premises. The existing print material signage just wasn’t effective so SWCC decided to look into digital signage. After reviewing several solutions, the company selected the Navori QL software platform. Here is why...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfkyXqQMVEYrFjHWjs5D6ue66-vf-XCyHcJIY6hWR8oNzy4xUeCQzAMf8Lqs-bydE5fhHwWPwYmxR5x1-OvoLkpVtwT4WeBGzXjHUqQSPX9LQTqE1LMiAKvRymKat10KWF9BHurpJX1i4A/s1600/swcc03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfkyXqQMVEYrFjHWjs5D6ue66-vf-XCyHcJIY6hWR8oNzy4xUeCQzAMf8Lqs-bydE5fhHwWPwYmxR5x1-OvoLkpVtwT4WeBGzXjHUqQSPX9LQTqE1LMiAKvRymKat10KWF9BHurpJX1i4A/s1600/swcc03.jpg" height="320" width="260" /></a></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
First, the Navori QL software interface is available in Arabic and the product is extremely easy to use. Switching between languages requires a couple of mouse clicks and since the software is accessible via any web browser, there is no additional software required which simplifies installations and future maintenance.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
Another key point was the software’s ability to display both Western and Arabic characters in server hosted data feeds and external RSS/xml feeds. No other digital signage platform is this versatile.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
SWCC was also very impressed with the software’s ease of deployment and scalability. It’s extremely easy to add and manage players using the software’s graphical user interface. Best of all, users are kept informed of the status of every player on the network in real-time. Alerts and notices are displayed in the application interface and email notifications can be sent to technical and management staff for quick response.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
The fact Navori has a local presence in the Middle East and provides sales and support services in both English and Arabic was also a huge advantage over competing solutions.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
Installation and integration was performed by Navori partner Technology House. A highly successful technical firm that specializes in advanced digital signage solutions in Saudi Arabia since 2000.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
Navori SA is a leader in digital signage software applications. The Navori QL software platform supports both PCs and Android devices seamlessly. Navori also offers its own Android device with QL Player pre-installed and ready to use. The QL StiX 2400 delivers near broadcast quality content playback at a very affordable price. With over 15 years of experience, Navori is committed to producing the most reliable and user friendly software applications in the industry.</div>

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Quick service restaurant operators are turning to digital signage technologies to comply with new government regulations that requires stores to disclose calorie counts and nutritional information to their customers. This has created new opportunities for digital menu boards. However, compliance is not the only reason behind the increasing popularity of digital signage in this sector. QSR operators also see digital signage as a means to increase sales in a highly competitive marketplace. </span></div>
<br /><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"></span><br />

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Digital signage first became popular with national chains who could afford the technology and had the staff to manage these projects. Since then, we have seen a shift to smaller restaurant chains and even single locations. </span></div>
<br /><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"></span><br />

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Recent developments have driven down hardware and software costs making digital menu boards accessible to businesses of any size. With the introduction of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and inexpensive Android devices, anyone can publish rich visual content on any type of screen and display device. There is no need for dedicated staff to manage a back-end server and installation is a snap.</span></div>

The Lithuanian Presidency of the council of European Union 2013 events hosted by Radisson BLU Hotel Lietuva featured the latest generation of digital signage solutions by Hansab. A total of 24 screens equipped with the Navori QL software solution from Swiss based Navori SA were integrated into the conference center, lobby, restaurant and SkyBar environments. “This is the largest hotel deployment in the Baltics that uses the most up-to-date Android digital signage platform on the market”, says Dovydas Stukas, Hansab sales manager.</div>

<b>Determining the needs of Radisson BLU Hotel Lietuva</b></div>

<br />The 22 floor hotel located near Vilnius’ Old Town is a leading conference and meeting center in Vilnius, offering 17 multifunctional meeting rooms that can host up to 1700 attendees. The staff would have traditionally used portable stands and printed signs which proved to be very inconvenient and time consuming. Radisson needed a professional cost effective interactive wayfinding and information solution. Attention was given to ease of use, scalability, multiplatform support, interface with hotel PMS system and total cost of investment. Management also wanted to make the conference center and hotel lobby more appealing and inviting for their guests.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #404040; font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">

Hansab, leading innovative solutions company in the Baltics, provided Radisson conference center, Lobby, Restaurant and Skybar with a custom solution based on the hotel’s specific needs: a series of luxurious glass framed 15” meeting rooms screens integrated into the walls, the latest commercial grade slim bezel Samsung 32”-55” ME-C, LE-C, PE-C series displays with a thickness of 2,99cm and with a brightness of 700cd/m2. Each screen is powered by the new Navori - QL StiX Android based digital signage players which communicate with a Navori QL server via LAN connection. The Players feature core playback, templates, Media RSS, RSS and XML feeds, XML parsing. The software offers an additional feature that is essential to any hotel - NAVORI QL can display meeting room occupancy data by interfacing directly with the Micros Fidelio Opera system or any database-driven software application. Real time data is automatically displayed in preconfigured templates: all meeting room and wayfinding information is available, from entrance and lobby levels to individual room and venue specific data which can all be displayed on screens located at each meeting room. Furthermore, Hansab designed the screen layouts so they show a mix of real time list of conferences with predesigned wayfinding graphics, meeting room content with individual data feeds and a real time clock. Restaurant and Skybar screens were designed to display special deals, menu & ads. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #404040; font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">

<br />The installation of these vibrant and attractive displays not only saves on operating costs but also attracts more viewers and creates added value for their customers. This installation elevates the digital signage market in the Baltic to a new level, exposing Hansab to many new opportunities in the region.</div>

The Swiss-based company is one of the first movers in the industry and it looks to fortify its position with the launch of the third generation of its NAVORI QL software platform.<br />
<br />
NAVORI QL features a CMS that runs on any web browser and the QL Player engine which is compatible with any Windows PC or Android device. The platform maintains all media properties including interactivity for touch screens and kiosk based systems. Mr. Jerome Moeri, <br />
Navori’s CEO, tells us “Navori is the most scalable system on the market”. “It delivers a true broadcast TV look and feel and the platform is fully hybrid so you can deploy at the lowest cost and operate any network at a fraction cost of traditional signage solutions currently on the market”.<br />
<br />
The Navori QL platform features a multi-user architecture and the QL player software runs on high end windows hardware to support complex video wall installations all the way down to Android tablets, smart TV’s and smart phones.<br />
<br />
With the QL StiX 2400 and the new QL StiX 3400 mini-player devices, Navori delivers low-cost, plug-and-play devices that can be taken out of the box and delivering content in seconds – all the while reducing installation time and labor costs.<br />
<br />
Mori adds “We completely revamped our software platform, a serious but necessary investment bearing in mind the true needs of the signage industry. Our goal is to power any organizational and marketing scenario at the highest playback quality”.<br />
<br />
NAVORI QL is available in self-hosted or SaaS – Software as a Service versions and is showcased at ISE2014 – Hall 8 stand 8K225Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02394154402213524835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1236606146658977000.post-61188986357379043842014-01-20T09:00:00.000-05:002014-01-20T09:00:09.183-05:00INTRODUCING NAVORI QL StiX 3400 at ISE 2014<h2>
The playback that pays back!</h2>
NAVORI introduces its new digital signage player technology that will revolutionize the industry. With the size of a deck of playing cards, the affordable QL StiX 3400 easily “sticks” to the back of any display device. It offers an unmatched playback quality at a stunning broadcast TV look and feel in a native 1920 x 1080p resolution.<br />
<br />
NAVORI QL StiX 3400 runs on the Android OS and has all the required connections to meet the needs of any installation. The device is powered by an ARM Cortex A9 Dual Core 1.5 Ghz chipset and features an 8 GB of onboard storage that can be extended to 32GB via Micro SD slot. <br />
<br />
The QL StiX 3400 is fully HDMI-CEC compatible – allowing the user to remotely control on-site hardware and run diagnostics which can easily triple the life span of the hardware. This command and control protocol is currently available under various brand names on both consumer and professional display devices from major vendors. This technology supersedes the RS-232 protocol which is more complex to manage and requires extra cabling to deliver similar functionality.<br />
<br />
QL StiX 3400 drastically reduces installation and operational costs due to its extremely low power consumption and fool proof, plug-and-play installation. With its industrial design, the QL StiX has an extremely high MTBF rating yet it remains extremely affordable. It’s also important to note the NAVORI QL platform uses the least amount of bandwidth of any competing solution. <br />

With the introduction of its QL StiX 3400, Navori completes the company’s offering with an industrial grade plug and play device that features an industrial-grade <br />
MTBF rating and HDMI CEC control for complete screen management. The QL StiX 2400 and QL StiX 3400 devices run on Android and can easily be mounted to any display device. These devices have an extremely small footprint – merely the size of a USB stick. They are plug-and-play right out of the box and can be installed and on-air in less than a minute. They are managed through the NAVORI QL Manager UI – the central, multi-user content creation and management suite that is part of the QL platform.<br />
<br />
Navori QL lets you run fully hybrid signage projects. QL StiX devices and PCs are managed totally transparently letting you deploy and manage complex multi-screen installations mixed in with Android based tablets. Run national ad campaigns from massive video walls down to individual store shelves. This is a serious improvement over traditional installations and it drastically lowers operational costs when deploying networks of any size. <br />
<br />
Integrators can leverage one of the many add-ons available or QL’s software development kit (SDK) to meet the demands of more complex challenges.<br />

Its reach now extends to retail, public transportation, hospitality and corporate communications. As the medium matures we find out it’s no longer the realm of techies. <br />
<br />
Swiss based Navori is proud to unveil its third generation platform making digital signage simple, easy and affordable. Best of all, it does so at the highest playback quality available and offers a true broadcast TV look and feel.<br />
<br />
Navori offers an intuitive and easy to learn content creation and management UI. It can easily be managed by multiple users each with their own rights and access levels.<br />
<br />
This is what we call a truly scalable system – but there is more: NAVORI QL is a hybrid platform that can manage both MS Windows based PCs and Android players transparently. The system maintains all native media properties and features a comprehensive set of add-ons including a software development kit (SDK). With such a well-rounded solution, Navori can respond to any digital signage scenario.<br />
<br />
Roll-out complex installations such as video walls and tablets to achieve multi-channel, interactive campaigns. There are no more limits. If you can think it – you can do it and Navori lets you achieve this at the lowest hardware cost and at the lowest operational costs without compromising quality. The digital signage industry has reached a new milestone.<br />
<br />
To top it all, Navori introduces its newest player device: the QL StiX 3400. This is the industrial-grade successor to Navori’s successful QL StiX 2400. It features a high MTBF hardware design along with HDMI CEC support for complete screen control. This feature easily triples the life span of the players and displays. The QL StiX is plug-and-play right out of the box. It’s so small that you can literally “stick” it on the back of any screen and be on-air in a matter of seconds. <br />
